What do our lawn services include?

Grass cutting

We’re happy to pop round weekly, fortnightly, or whenever you just can’t be bothered to do it yourself! We’re entirely flexible with our services, so if you need regular visits or a one time job, we’re here to help you!

Edging & Borders

Edging and borders are what give your garden that nice tidy finish. We trim the grass along paths, patios and flower beds to stop things getting messy or overgrown.

Fertilising

Is your lawn in need of rejuvenating? Fertilising can be the perfect solution. We apply the right feed to support healthy growth and keep everything looking greener and stronger.

Grass Seed Planting

Not to be confused with fertilising, grass seed planting is great for patchy lawns and helps new grass grow.

Frequently asked questions about lawn care

How long does grass seed take to grow?

Grass usually starts to sprout in about 7-14 days. Patience is key with this,  as it can take a few weeks for the lawn to really fill in. We recommend that you keep the soil damp and avoid walking on it while it’s young. With time, you’ll soon have a nice green patch!

It depends on the season and how fast your grass is growing. During spring and summer, you might need to mow once a week. In cooler months, every two to three weeks is usually enough.

It’s best to avoid mowing when the grass is wet not only because wet blades can clog your mower, but it can leave your garden looking even worse than it was before! No one wants an uneven and untidy lawn, so it’s recommended that you wait until your grass is dry.

First, clear the area of weeds, rocks, and debris. Loosen the soil so the seeds can settle in, and then spread the seed evenly and rake it lightly into the soil. After this is done, gently water and keep it moist until the grass starts to grow. Soon you’ll have a fresh green lawn!

Birds love fresh grass seed, so it can be tricky to stop them from pecking at your grass! In our experience, it’s best for you to cover the area with a light net or mesh until the seeds start to grow.

Take a walk across your lawn and look for any bumps or dips, then gently rake soil into the low spots and remove a little from the high areas to even things out. If some dips are deeper, add a bit of topsoil and spread it so it blends with the rest of the lawn. Give the soil a gentle watering to help it settle, and once it’s ready, you can reseed those areas.
